From USA TODAY bestselling author Colleen Coble comes the third book in her beloved Lavender Tides series.

Her mother lied about her identity and her husband wasn’t who she thought he was—can Bailey even trust herself anymore?

Running for her life in the wake of her mother’s murder, Bailey Fleming escapes to the only place she can think of—a remote, dilapidated cabin in Lavender Tides. Intending to finally get to the truth behind the lies of her past, Bailey only finds more questions when bodies are discovered near her cabin hideout along with traces of a dangerous human trafficking ring. In an unlikely partnership with FBI agent Lance Phoenix, Bailey races to understand the mystery surrounding her life and circumstances before the murderer tracks her down.

Meanwhile, Lance is determined to rescue his sister, Ava, who was abducted after running away from home as a teenager. An unexpected lead brings him to the remote cabin, and he wonders if Bailey—with her suspicious past and strange connections to his sister’s case—is really who she claims to be and if she can somehow lead him to Ava.

Filled with Colleen Coble’s custom blend of suspense and romance, Secrets at Cedar Cabin takes us back to the evocative landscape of Washington’s coast where nothing is quite as it seems.

“Secrets at Cedar Cabin is filled with twists and turns that will keep readers turning the pages as they plunge into the horrific world of sex trafficking where they come face to face with evil. Colleen Coble delivers a fast- paced story with a strong, lovable ensemble cast and a sweet heaping helping of romance.” Kelly Irvin, bestselling author of Tell Her No Lies

“Once again Colleen Coble has delivered a page-turning, can’t-put-down suspense thriller with Secrets at Cedar Cabin! I vowed I’d read it slowly over several nights before going to bed. The story wouldn’t waitI HAD to finish it!” Carrie Stuart Parks, award-winning, bestselling author of Portrait of Vengeance and Formula of Deception

As an avid reader, I have a very small list of my favorite authors.  Today’s book is by one of those authors: Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble is the third in her Lavender Tides series.  I read the first book in this series, The View from Rainshadow Bay (see review HERE), and the second book, The House at Saltwater Point (see review HERE), so you know I’ve just been waiting for this book to be published since it’s the end of this series.

This book was another exciting installment of romance and suspense in the Lavender Tides series! This latest book ties up a few loose story plots from the previous two books, and fills in the story of Shauna’s missing siblings that started in book one.  I loved that all the characters from the other two books appeared in this book too.

The back story is this: An earthquake hit the town of Lavender Tides, Washington and three children were separated from each other while they were at the grocery store with their mother.  The earthquake sent their mom into labor and Olivia Fleming delivered the baby girl because she was a paramedic.  Unfortunately, the baby’s mother died during delivery.  The oldest child was Shauna, whom readers met in the first book as she was raised by her father.  Shauna found out years later that her brother was adopted by a family.

In this story, Secrets at Cedar Cabin, readers meet the baby girl delivered during the earthquake, Bailey Fleming, who ended up being raised by the paramedic, Olivia Fleming. Olivia was murdered and she left Bailey some money and a note that she is in danger for her life as well. Bailey has a “situation” involving her rock star husband, Kyle Bearcraft, who seems to already be married to someone else.  To keep her from telling her story with the media, Kyle gives Bailey the deed to a house in Lavender Tides, the Cedar Cabin. When someone tries to kill Bailey, she leaves Rock Harbor, Michigan and heads to Lavender Tides and to Cedar Cabin.

Bailey is a great character in this story and once she arrives in Lavender Tides, she finds out more of her life has been a lie than she knew. She learns that her cabin has been used for human trafficking, which then brings FBI agent Lance Phoenix into her life. Lance has been working the case to try and rescue his sister, Ava, who was taken by the human trafficking ring when she ran away from home. Lance wonders if Bailey’s story is even true when he crosses paths with her, and if she can somehow bring him in touch with his sister.

I can’t say whether or not this book would serve as a stand alone, having read the others before it.  I would, though, recommend reading the first two in the series before beginning this one so that you can understand the backstory of all the characters and what is happening in their lives to bring them all to the point they find themselves in during this book. I was very pleased how all the loose ends from the entire series were tied up by the last page of this book!
