Congratulations to the Eilat City Council. At last, individuals with physical disabilities will be able to sit on specially constructed wheelchairs that can roll through the sand and float in the water, thus allowing their occupants to sunbathe and feel the water on their bodies. In addition, the city has paved pathways at their northern beaches in order to allow greater access to persons who suffer from handicaps of one kind or another.
I have been blogging for a year now about discrimination, blame, shame and the stigma accorded people suffering from various physical handicaps as well as mental illnesses and reading about this generous and necessary gesture of the Eilat municipality, gave me both pleasure and hope for the future. Once again, congratulations on a great job done.
