They have carved out a total of 106 ‘stone relief sculptures’ based on the novel.Talking about the stone work then the image of Outhu palli, Daiva Pura, Aliyar, thumbikal and of Apukkli have been modulated in granite by the artistes. Beside that the artiste have really worked hard to immortalised the backgrounds of novel like Chuttan mayil, oonth, butterfly, palm trees and of many more environmental elements to give that extra edge on the sculpture work.While speaking on novel Rajan said that it is very illustrative and organised work of Vijayan so to portray the depth and the impression of the story we tried naturally and made appropriate effort to bring out the best of novel in non living character.The sculptor who carried out the work said the project which was initiated by DTPC is really a noble work but to perfect the sculpture from any angle we read the novel numerous times and walked through the distance of hamlet to meet people to characterise the stone work.To execute the vision the characters were sort listed after an apparent and continuous reading. The serious discussions were made and before finalising the work series of sketches were outlined. After finalising the project four tones of granite was brought from the Shornur, Rajan talked about the quality of the granite and said the impounding amount of 11 lakh was sanctioned to complete the work.
