Scorpio Rising – January 2013
For you Scorpio, the Sun and it's consort Mercury are in the first three weeks of January making their way through the house of the mind and of local issues. For you it is a time of promoting your own personal talents, dealing with local people and issues and possibly having increased contact with brothers and sisters. Whether you like it or not, others will be getting in touch with you to find out your views on things. Traditionally, this is a busy time of the year for you. In the last week of the month, the focus will change to dealing with domestic matters. Mars is already here in this part of the chart so family issues will already be important and you may be able to get a lot of work around the house done. More than likely you will not be easy to live with, and you may become irritable and upset. This transit stirs up emotions from the depths of your soul and makes you feel slightly uncomfortable. Try to keep your relations with parents on an even keel, as arguments and disputes could flare up.
Venus is moving in your 2nd house for the early part of January so earning and spending money shouldn't be a problem for you in the sales that traditionally follow the New Year. As Venus enters Capricorn and your 3rd house, your relationship with neighbours, local officials and your brothers and sisters will improve if they have been under strain in the past. Venus encourages you to interact with your local area, and you may decide to explore or take a weekend vacation. Venus starts to make a square to Uranus and close in on a conjunction to Pluto between the 13th and 17th January. At this time you may be asked to provide an unexpected service for a neighbor or relations at work with colleagues may spiral into conflict. Late in the month, the Sun makes an optimistic trine to Jupiter from your 4th house and you might decide to make some changes to your home décor, or you could need to ask for financial help from a family member. The Leo Full Moon on the 27th may see you trying to assert your authority at work. It may also herald the end of a project that you have been working on.
