This is an aspect that is pretty simple in it's concept and we have already had the first wave of it back at the end of last year as the initial connection occurred on Christmas Eve, 24th December at 20 degrees Sagittarius/Aries. The second of three hits happens on May 19th at 26 degrees Sag/Ari and the last one happens on 11th November at 25 degrees, so this is an aspect that will be affecting us all of the year in a similar way that the Saturn Neptune square did in 2016. Effectively Saturn is everything we know and have got used to, and Uranus is everything we don't know, we are intrigued by and are a little afraid of trying as it will pull us out of our comfort zone. This is not a tug of war though like a square would be, this trine is a transitional aspect taking us along a journey from one old state to a newer one.
I'm going to take you back to the year 1927, in particular the summer and autumn of that momentous year. Why you ask? Well Saturn Uranus trines do come around every 14-15 years or so, the last one was in 2002/2003 but 1927 is important as it was the last one with Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries, the same signs as they are now in. So what was happening back then?
Well it was a time of technological firsts, a very typical response to a Saturn Uranus trine. To illustrate this more graphically than any other event at that time, television was developed under this aspect. The actual invention arrived in Jan 1926 when Uranus in Pisces was trine to Saturn in Scorpio, however moving pictures were demonstrated the next year once this trine had moved signs into Aries and Sagittarius. In 1927 "The Jazz Singer" became the first ever motion picture featuring the spoken word, Henry Ford replaced the Model T with the far superior model A car, Charles Lindburgh crossed the Atlantic Ocean in an aircraft for the first time showing that the world could be connected much faster than before. Transatlantic telephone calls were also first made in 1927
The seeds of the 1929 crash were sown in 1927 by a developing Bull Market based I think on the back of many of these new advances and developing technology. New ways of doing things created a bubble of false optimism which over time developed into a stock market rally that became unsustainable. Mistakes were made and risks were taken. The shock wave started at this time (very Uranian) was to have severe consequences two years later.
Uranus does not respect the rules that Saturn lays down and it is very interesting that the height of Al Capone's criminal empire was in 1927. America at the time was in the grip of prohibition with alcohol sales being prevented and through the back door Capone's network of sourcing and selling illegal liquor from Canada, where it was mostly still legal, flourished. This was exacerbated in the summer of 1927 as Ontario repealed it's own prohibition on alcohol sales. The American government immediately place immigrant status on all Canadians living and working in the US requiring them to have visas in response to the restrictions on alcohol being lifted, as many Canadians lived in the US servicing the illegal trade in drink. You see the comparisons between 1927 and Trump's impending dispute with Mexico?
Elsewhere in the world the UK were having problems with Soviet spying and espionage (no change there then) and expelled a number of diplomats from the country. Yugoslavia severed diplomatic relations with Albania, in China a military dictatorship in the North of the country lead by Chang Tso-Lin rose up to try and stop the communist spread of influence from Mao Zedong. Japan meanwhile were secretly planning a strategy to invade China and perhaps the world in due course. Nazism was on the rise in Germany in 1927, there were political riots in Vienna and a military rebellion was crushed in Portugal. A prominent and controversial politician Kevin O'Higgins was shot dead in Ireland, the Soviet ambassador to Poland was murdered in Warsaw and there were worldwide protests at the execution of two innocent Italian US anarchists, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. A war and uprisings in Mexico over religious rights occurred after the government put restrictions on the Catholic Church. There were natural disasters too. The great Mississippi flood of 1927 affected 700,00 people, a tornado in St Louis killed 79 and injured 550, an earthquake in Northern China killed 40,000 people. There was a new government in Turkey, the UK changed it's official name finally admitting that Ireland was now an independent nation, Iraq was created from British rule and the UK also recognised the sovereignty of the future Saudi Arabia.
The year 1927 was a year of flux and rapid change, the old was being swept away and new ways of doing things were arriving. Now I am not saying that all these event were of a direct consequence of the Saturn Uranus trine, but you can see some similar themes here to the ones we are seeing today in the world around us. Authority challenged by those wanting change, rules being broken, countries and peoples being liberated, people taking chances and a wave of optimism rising up. Remember 1927 was the height of the "roaring 20's" and the bubble that was created was to be burst just a few years later. Times are indeed different now and we as a world are recovering after 7 years of one of the worst financial crashes in history. Nevertheless, in 2017 I think we will see the shackles truly coming off and I predict a year of powering ahead. Don't expect things to be the same as they were come the end of this year. New statutes and alliances may be formed, old ones may be smashed to pieces. The world may be turned on it's head while Saturn and Uranus dance in unison. The trick will be and my advice to you all will be to control the rate of change in you own lives. Move forward but do so carefully, lest you as an individual and we as a world fall into the same trap as occurred 90 years ago...
