Saturday Samples!

By Brokebutbeautiful @never2broke4bea
I'm back from my brief hiatus talking about samples, makeup samples, not wee!

Saturday samples!

A few of the samples knocking around my flat at the moment!

Well, if you follow me on Twitter you'll know that I had declared myself on a beauty blogging hiatus, That was yesterday and here I am posting, turns out I'm not very good at this whole relaxing business. I was only going to take a little time out because I find it difficult to find the time to post sometimes, which leads to me getting stressed out and putting pressure on myself to post while I've got another 101 things that needs doing. However, I've found myself home alone on a Saturday night, I read my book for a while, watched a few Big Bang Theory re runs and now I've decided the whole 'me time' thing is sometimes over rated!!
Anyway, as it is Saturday night I've decided I'm not going to do my usual product review but instead I'm going to talk a little bit about my favourites things in the beauty industry, samples.(Its Saturday night, I'm living my life on the edge!!) Now the word 'sample' makes me think of two things, trying desperately to pee on demand at the doctors and more relevant to this blog, getting to test products for free. Now I'm not talking about PR samples, just the little sachets that you get from cosmetics counters to see if you like a product before you buy it.  For me, samples fall into two categories; the ones you get free and the ones you have to pay for. I personally am not a fan of paying for samples, especially those that come in a small sachet as you barely get more than one application. However, if its a high end product I can justify paying a small amount for it.

Saturday samples!

My new enemy: Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish

I recently invested £3 in a 30ml sample of Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish, as this retails at £14.25 + and the 30ml sample is enough for multiple uses I figured it was worth spending a small amount on. Had I paid  more for this product I would have been super disapointed as it has done terrible things to my skin. I'm not goint to do a full review of Cleanse and Polish as the bloggersphere is full of reviews but basically it has made my skin break out to the point where my face is actually painful.
So, basically this is a plea to brands out there to release more sample sized products. If the sample is a decent size I don't mind paying for it but if its just enough for one application whack it in a magazine with an advert and if I like the product I'll pay for it anyway!
Have a great weekend!
