Salah Freed By Police After Phone Incident
Mohamed Salah will face no criminal action after he was allegedly seen using his mobile phone while behind the wheel of a car.
In August, a video circulated on social media appearing to show the Liverpool forward on his phone when stationary in his car and surrounded by a number of people following Liverpool's 4 - 0 win over West Ham United.
Liverpool referred the incident to Merseyside Police, who said on Thursday no further action would be taken.
"We can confirm a 26 year-old man was spoken to following an incident on Arkles Lane in Liverpool on Sunday Aug. 12, 2018," a Merseyside Police statement, obtained by ESPN FC, read.
"Enquiries have taken place and there is insufficient evidence to support a prosecution and as such no further action will be taken.
"The man has been spoken to by officers and given advice and guidance around mobile phone use in a vehicle."
In the U.K. it is illegal to hold a phone while driving, with the law applying if a driver has stopped at traffic lights or is queuing in traffic.
