Pinterest is a wonderful way to waste time. Just scroll up and own liking images and pinning them for a later date. And then you realize it's not such a waste of time at all.I had pinned this bread many times...to different boards ,intending to make it.This Georgian Bread. Russians have this beautiful history ot pretty breads...they have so much wheat to deal with.Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by Bread
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by BreadThen I found an Indian version in My diverse kitchen ,again beautifully brought out. And I had to just make it.And I made it. Need a pie dish big enough, so I used a silicone pie dish.Truth be told, any dish will do.So as long as you have a pie dish or maybe a cake tin with a loose bottom. I love loose bottoms...don't you all?And then some pretty pictures. These have been taken with with ASUS Zenfone2. Still figuring out the use of the manual mode.
The bread was soft.Vey soft .And the filling was of cheese spread. Amul cheese spread. Spiced with Red chilli flakes and garlic and basil and coriander.
The cheese oozing out and fragrant bread ,slathered with melting butter.Amul butter.
I read somewhere that Indian chefs love using Amul butter. The taste of India. The real taste of butter that makes a yummy combination with any Indian meal or bread.
Any bread for that matter.
Can you see the pillow softness of this bread. Pull apart rolls. Shaped like a chrysanthemum. Concentric circles. With a pretty roll in the center. I wanted to make more petals ,but sweet child wanted a roll. So a roll it was.

For the
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by Bread...
You need
4 cups all purpose flour or maida (A little more than 500 GMs so if you don't have enough, run out and buy a bag)1 1/2 tsp dried yeast or 4 1/2 tsp bakers yeast2 tsp sugar1 tsp salt1/2 cup tepid warm milk1/2 cup thick yogurt 1/3 cup neutral vegetable oil -olive oil if you have it1 egg
For the filling 200 GMs cheese spread 1 tsp salt1 tsp pepper 2-3 red chilli flakes2-3 tsp garlic paste or minced garlic 1 small bunch fresh herbs -I used basil and coriander 1/2 cup milk for the wash
Into your stand mixer bowl or a large kneading bowl add in 3 1/2 cups of the flour  and all the other ingredients and knead. You will need to add the remaining flour but not all. Knead till the dough is nice and elastic.Form into a ball.Brush a large bowl with oil and place the dough ball in it and cover and set aside. After the dough has doubled, maybe 45-55 minutes later mix all the ingredients for the filling. You may of course alter the seasoning to taste.
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by BreadGrease the pie dish and get out some flour to roll. That's the double dough.msoft and pillow like already.
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by BreadCut the dough into four pieces. Roll out on floured surface to 1/6 inch  thickness . Feel free to retold the scraps. Cut with a cookie cutter or a steel katori cut out circles. You'll need about 30-36. In the centre, place 1/2 tbsp filling. Fold in half. And pinch the the semicircle to form a petal.
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by BreadWith the leftover scraps roll out a rectangle. Spread the filling and fold over. Roll along the long the length to form a roll.
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by BreadCrescent petals in the periphery like so and the roll in the center. You can skip the  centre roll and continue with the petals. Cover and set aside some place warm to proof.
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by BreadSo the bread puffs up. The scraps I rerolled and shaped into two brioche buns.
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by BreadThat's coming up soon.
Russian Chrysanthamum Bread -Blessed by BreadPreheat your oven to 180C.Once the oven is hot enough, pop in the bread for 20-25 minutes or till done.
The cheese will ooze out and the baking bread will smell fragrant.
The dogs and children will hover as if waiting for manna to fall from heaven.
The oven door has to open first.
Eat this bread warm. With soup or coffee.Or just like that.
Some butter will go a long way.
The bread is super soft . Total winner and I am glad I wasted so much time on Pinterest for this.
So try out this bread and lemme know if you really like it. I'm planning to try a sweet alternative.  Maybe Nutella.Maybe cinnamon.Maybe mincemeat.
So let's say a little thank you to the Russians for their obsession with bread and feast on this tasty beauty.
Don't wait...
So what are you baking today???
