Robert, do you really think China won’t conduct imperialism in weak tropical countries when America cant stop them? In my opinion, china is going to rule parts of the Third World somewhat nicely but not fully democratically, and people wont complain too much, yet the Chinese would steal some stuff for allegiance from the foreign leaders. But hey, that’s at least better than much of Israel and America ha ha. This goes back to my idea that America will start to negotiate with its neighbors differently when people realize how corrupt republicans are and the elite are going to change geopolitically in accord to how much china will grow. I can’t see this crazy neocon foreign lunacy continue for another 90 years, maybe in an smaller form.
The Chinese don’t rule any of those African countries at all. That’s the thing. The ChiComs don’t care what sort of system or politics you have – capitalism, social democracy, socialism, Communism – it’s all the same to them. They’re not going to overthrow governments for raising the minimum wage or building schools like we do.
They can’t do that. The Chinese are Communists. Communists can’t exploit other countries economically in imperialist or colonialist fashion. It’s not allowed. And the Chinese are absolutely Communists, trust me when I say that. Even Deng was a Communist. Deng’s dream was to create in China a “wealthy Communist country.” In a recent interview a Communist Party official was asked whether the CCP is still committed to spreading Communism over the globe.
“Of course we are,” the cadre answered. “That is the whole purpose of the Communist Party.”
They are already not exploiting anyone, and they have plenty of opportunities. The Silk Road Initiative and the Chinese behavior in Africa are based on solidarity, not imperialism. There’s no way on Earth that China is exploiting Africa in a Dependency Theory way via economic and military imperialism. Chinese behavior in Africa doesn’t work that way. It’s all win-win: we win, you win. It’s nothing like what the Europeans did or what the present day capitalist powers do in the 3rd World.
Russia is not an imperialist power either, and the USSR was never one. Social imperialism was always a pathetic joke. The notion that Eastern Europe was part of a Soviet imperialistic project was ridiculous. Eastern Europe cost the USSR money. Eastern Europe made money off the USSR, not the other way around. Colonies don’t exploit colonizers. If they do it’s not colonialism. Americans resist this notion because even good American liberal Democrats still think colonialism was a noble project, but let’s face facts here.
Colonialsim was all about the loot, the gold, the money, the booty. No booty, no colonies.
