Russell Crowe in Talks for Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’The captain of Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World is getting ready to sail another boat. According to Deadline, Darren Aronofsky wants Russell Crowe to play the title role in the New Regency/Paramount film, Noah. The movie is set to be a biblical epic in hopefully the same vein of greats like Ben-Hur. Russell Crowe might not be an inspired choice, but if ever an actor needed Aronofsky’s magic touch (he has gotten actors nominated for Oscars for his last two films), Crowe would be the one. In the early 2000′s, Crowe was on top of the acting world with Academy Award winning turns in Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind. To say he hasn’t been amazing since would be an understatement. If Crowe does sign on, this could be a wonderful union.

Update: Supposedly, Liam Neeson (The Grey) is also in talks to join the films in a capacity other than Noah.
