Rising Tide Chicago paid a visit to the Governor’s office today to urge him to ban fracking. Joined by Cupid, himself, RT brought Governor Quinn scientific studies about the ecological effects of fracking. According to the Rising Tide Chicago facebook page:

“Cupid delivered a giant card and a heart shaped box filled with scientific papers on hydraulic fracturing to Gov. Quinn’s Springfield office today. Cupid urged the Gov. to get out of the bad romance of the state and hydraulic fracturing companies and to not allow fracking in IL.”

The card read, “The hydraulic fracturing regulatory act and the recent rules released by the Illinois Department of Resources are not based on scientific studies on hydraulic fracking. They act to protect the profits and interests of industry, not Illinois citizens.”
