Ribbon Pakoda

I prepared this ribbon pakoda 3 days back,but could not blog about it here,today some how I squeezed time today amidst of guests,crackers and cooking to post the recipe here.I got a request from my reader Anusha for this ribbon pakoda so here it is :). Ribbon pakoda is a savory snack made of gram flour and rice flour.It is pressed using a special press called ribbon press. Very simple to prepare and tastes great :)

Ribbon pakoda recipe
Star ingredients:Gram flour and rice flour
Time:30 minutes
Yield:6 large rounds
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup gram flour
1/2 cup rice flour
1 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon asafoetida
2 tablespoons molten butter
1 tablespoon hot oil
Salt
Oil for deep frying
Method:
1. Take all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well.Add the molten butter and hot oil and mix well till it resembles crumbs
Ribbon pakoda2.Add water gradually to form a soft dough as seen in the picture
Ribbon pakoda3.Grease the press with ribbon shape and fill the press with dough..
Ribbon pakoda4.Heat oil for deep frying,press the dough directly in hot oil.Fry till golden brown on medium flame from both sides.
5.Drain on a kitchen towel and cool

Ribbon pakodaNotes:
1.It is important that the butter and oil shuld be hot while adding the flour.
2.Increase/decrease the chilli powder salt etc
3.Wet your hands before filling the dough each time to avoid sticking.
