Dreams do come true! When Big City Little Blog was invited to the "Real Housewives of New York" Season 8 Premiere Party hosted by Dorinda Medley & newcomer Jules Weinstein, we nearly feel off our chairs.
The event was held at 42West - adjacent to The OUT Hotel- where rosé wine tasting was featured between two bars on each side of the expansive room. True to form, they were serving Skinnygirl Margaritas, although the cocktail maven, Bethenny Frankel, was noticeably absent due to her live guest appearance on WWHL.
The entire cast (minus Bethenny & Carol) showed up dressed to the nines and ready to get their party on. We also briefly spotted Andy Cohen and New Jersey Housewife, Teresa Guidice.
The red carpet lit up with our favorite housewives Ramona Singer, Countess Luann, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, and newcomer JulesWeinstein. The red carpet wasn't without its fair share of drama as has-been housewife, Cindy Barshop, attempted to push another guest off the red carpet, nearly coming to blows. After avoiding that debacle, we got to talking with one of our favorites Housewives of all the franchises: Ms. Sonja Morgan.
As usual, Lady Morgan was dressed to kill with a clutch so fabulous, we just had to have her spill the Fashion Tea. She was gracious enough to give us a quick one-on-one interview."Well, this has become my uniform when I'm not wearing Sonja Morgan New York since I'm in between collection number one and two right now." She says of her look, adding " it's a Herve Lerger bandage dress. On my feet are the YSL Tribute sandals. I always wear those and my friend ENCISEO makes these amazing bags!"
When asked if the snake was real or embossed she proudly declared, "OH YES! Its real snake. It has ALL the details. Naomi Campbell, the Saudi royal family... they all buy it, its the ultimate luxury! I have it in black, I have it in red with a handle, pink, everything!"
Talking to Morgan about who she felt closest to this season, she states "Ramona and I are like sisters but in the beginning, she throws me under the bus saying that my boyfriends are too young, I drink too much, blah blah blah, and it was way too much for me!" It turns out she and the Countess have become quite the pair. To our absolute shock and delight, Morgan discloses, "Luann actually moves in with me, and we got even closer! I've known Luann for five years prior to the show and we've been on the show for 8 years or so together. We're really funny together which you'll see this season!"
After that little teaser, we tried to squeeze more out of the New York beauty, but nothing gets past Sonja Morgan. "You'll have to wait and see, " she said, adding "it's like a sorority! When you get through the show and you're still friends, it says a lot about your friendship."
Following cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres, Dorinda graciously thanked the guests for coming, promising that this will be the most explosive season yet! Hot in demand, we managed to snag Dorinda over for a picture which has been on our bucket list since she started the show!
She was dressed to perfection- wearing a Malan Breton white paillettes jumpsuit. We need that jumpsuit in our wardrobes ASAP! With a Photo Booth and live singer at the end, those who were left- including us and the hosts- all went on stage and started dancing the night away. Never did we think that a RHONY could exceed our wildest expectations but Dorinda showed us she is here to stay and Jules is a fierce newcomer to watch out for!
