As a Bzz Agent I have been sent some Vanish Oxi Action to try. I have to say I was a bit dubious. I have tried different Vanish products before and have never been impressed with the results.
I had three items of clothing that I knew had really ground on stains and thought what better way to test it! I had a dribble bib of Little Miss A’s that was really filthy and I was planning to throw away, one of Little Mr A’s school t-shirts that had a mud stain on it and a top of mine with a tomato sauce stain. I wasn’t really expecting the stains to come out, however, I was surprised by the results, as you can see from this video…
The stains came out of the bib completely, in fact it is so clean it looks brand new! There is still a slight mark on the t-shirt of Little Mr A and a very faint mark on my top, however, unless you knew they were there, you cannot see them
It is available at all major retailers and is priced at around £4.50 for a 500g tub.
For tough and dried stains you can add one scoop of Vanish to your laundry detergent in the washing machine drawer and wash as usual and for normal stains just add 1/2 scoop. They claim to have great results even at 30 degrees. I have not tried this method yet but will give it a go and let you know if it works!
For really tough and dried stains you fully dissolve 1 scoop of the Vanish Oxi Action Powder into 4 litres of warm water (max 40 °C) and leave it to soak (up to 1 hour max. for colours and up to 6 hours max. for whites). For lighter stains, you can use 1/2 a scoop. After soaking you just wash your clothes as usual. Vanish Oxi Action is not suitable for use on wool, silk or leather. This is the method I used and, as you can see, have had great results.
For best results it does say to treat the stain straight away, however, the stains I treated had been on the clothes for some time and I still got great results.
