Hair & Beauty Magazine
I have read so many posts from bloggers raving about Tom Ford Lipsticks that I finally took the plunge and ordered one for myself.
I am going through a love for nude/my lips but better phase with lipstick at the moment and decided to go for a shade I know I would get a lot of wear out of as I wanted to get my moneys worth from it.
The lipstick in question is Spanish Pink, it is a warm pink/nude shade that is slightly lighter than my natural lip color.
The first thing you notice about Tom Ford Lipsticks is the gorgeous gold and black packaging, it is really quite heavy and just screams luxury.
I spent most of the first day of owning this just staring at it, not being able to bring myself to use it. There is the famous TF embossed on the bullet and I still haven't used that side of the lipstick yet. I am the crazy woman applying it from the back of the bullet. (I know I am not the only one who finds these lipstick to beautiful to use, I loved Stacey's post on her Tom Ford Lipsticks)
The formulation is lovely, very creamy in texture and opaque but it still gives a bit of sheen to the lips. It lasts well about 3/4 hours which I think for a nude shade is a decent time. It also doesn't dry your lips out at all, though I wouldn't say it was moisturising either.
Now onto the price, yes I agree £37 for a lipstick is ridiculous, this is definitely not an everyday purchase, but for someone like me who has a passion for make up and owns a lot of it I think it would make a great gift or treat.
You definitely get quality with this and I do not regret spending the money on it, I may even be eyeing up a few more shades to add to my growing wish list.
If you have been thinking about giving the Tom Ford Lipsticks a try I say take the plunge, I don't think you will regret it. I never understood the hype until I tried them for myself and yes it is a luxury but there is something about applying this lipsticks that makes you feel special.
