I was really excited when I heard MUA were bringing out a matte lipsticks range as when it comes to a dark lip I do prefer a matte finish.I of course picked up Wine Berry a deep purple/red color and Scarlet Siren which is a bright red, both perfect for is time of year.
I was actually a bit disappointed from the first swatch as the the pigmentation isn't great and they feel very dry and drag the skin.
After trying thse out a few times now I am still not a huge fan. You have to make sure your lips are super smooth and soft otherwise these will show up any dry skin you have. They are also very drying and I found I had to keep apply lip balm to stop my lips from shrivelling up which kind of defeats the point of a matte lipstick.
These are only a £1 so I wasn't expecting too much but knowing what other products are like from MUA I was a little disappointed with these matte lipsticks.
