I bought this lipstick around Christmas `time, when I had a little bit of Christmas money to splurge on a few high end make-up items. At the time, I loved the color. I think it is at a borderline with pink and a neutral brown colour, which I soon discovered I wasn't keen on against my skin. I never wore it for about 3 months (partly because I couldn't find it) until about 3 weeks ago, when I found it hidden in the fruit bowl (how strange...). I immediately looked at it and was about to throw it back into my make-up drawer, until I decided to try it. After the very sad day of my favorite ever lipstick by No7 called 'Classic Rose' in the long wear range ran out, I was not prepared to pay something like £12 for a drug store lipstick, so I decided to give this lipstick another try. I instantly took a liking to it, and I am now questioning myself why I ever abandoned it!
MAC lipstick formulas are quite dry, but when a balm is applied either underneath or on top, this lipstick is my idea of heaven. I'm not really a fan of matte lips, however I'm not really a fan of glossy lips, but applied with a balm, this feels like a glossy texture, without the glossy or matte finish. My favorite balm to apply underneath the lipstick is the Balance Me 'Rose Otto' lip salve, which is a really heavy duty lip balm, which I use every night and every morning. On top, I either apply Cherry Carmex, or the mint Balmi, to give the nice feel of gloss on my lips, without the gloss!
The color of this lipstick is not a perfect match to the No7 one, in fact its not very similar at all. I think I've made a lipstick shade change... which is always exciting!
