Review of Disney Junior CD’s – Doc McStuffins and Sophia the First

A little while ago we were sent two CD’s to listen to and review.  I knew both of the Little A’s would love them.  Little Mr A is a closet Disney Junior fan (if his friends ask he agrees it’s babyish!) and Little Miss A loves to dance to music.

First up was Doc McStuffins.  This brand new CD includes the theme tune to the hit Disney Junior show together with other favourite songs from the first series.  If you have never seen Doc McStuffins before, the show sees a six year old girl, Dottie McStuffins, who wants to become a doctor.  When she puts on her stethoscope her toys and dolls magically come to life and become her ‘patients’.  With help from her animal friends, Stuffy, Hallie, Lambie and Chilly Dottie (aka Doc) helps all her toys to ‘feel better’.  There is also a message at the end of each episode giving you tips on how to stay healthy and how important it is to take care of yourself.

Little Mr A enjoys Doc McSuffins and knew a lot of the songs so really enjoyed the CD.  Little Miss A also enjoyed the songs too and had a good dance to them.  I would say, for parents, it does get quite annoying if you are listening to it in the car, however, it is only around half an hour long and each song is only around a minute long each!

Here is a sneaky peek at one of the songs on the CD:

The other CD we received was Sofia the First.  This is a relatively new discovery in the A household and one that Little Mr A has taken to straight away.  The CD features all of the music from the series together with ‘Rise and Shine’ from the movie Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess.  Sofia the First is about a girl called Sofia who is whisked off to a castle when her Mum marries the King, and quickly has to learn what it means to be a real Princess.

Little Mr A really enjoyed this CD as he knew quite a lot of the songs on it from watching the show.  His favourite is ‘Make Some Noise’ which he listens to over and over.  From a personal point of view this CD was much more enjoyable than Doc McStuffins as the songs are a little more ‘real’ rather than just been made for a TV show.  There are less tracks on this CD, however, they are longer and the CD is around the same length, 30 minutes.
