DIOR One Essential Regenereteur Cellulaire Intense Serum
DIOR One Essential Regenereteur Cellulaire Intense Serum
I received DIOR One Essential Regenereteur Cellulaire Intense Serum by Violette Beauty Box company (India) in January 2013 box. You can find the details and other samples here.
My aging skin now demands a lot of such serums and moisturizers because I am in my 25+ age group which start seeing pores, dryness, rashes and crows feet. My main concern is my pores and dull, very dull skin tone. The good thing about my skin is that it starts seeing difference good/bad as soon as I start applying a product. So what do I feel about this?
Before knowing that, let's see the claims:
"This youth-restoring super-serum helps detoxify skin cells to powerfully correct all visible signs of aging: wrinkles, loss of firmness, dark spots, and lack of radiance. Applied before any other skincare products, One Essential boosts treatments' effectiveness and extends their benefits over time. The skin regains its vitality and becomes more luminous, smoother, and visibly younger-looking. This skincare must-have doubles the effectiveness of any skincare routine as it helps to eliminate more than 7 billion toxins (accumulated in skin each day)"

If you look at the highlighted ingredients you'd find a 2-3 acids, glycerin and water. When lactic/glycolic/citric acids are involved in a product or alone, they buff your skin, and commonly used in peeling. So it becomes very important to be extra careful while you are using such products. I used an ointment prescribed by my skin doctor and I was told to be extra careful when i am stepping out sun because the peeling makes your skin prone to sun damage. But good for me because I work in the evenings and sleep during day (yes! I am nocturnal for last 7-8 years)
Here comes the look and texture:
It is a pale looking serum which has very thin watery consistency. That is what is called serum, I guess. Yeah, that is called serum. So this is how it looks!
Difference on my skin:
You would notice a visible difference in my face on 5th day. I could spot the difference around my nose area (laugh line), my puffy eyes and my cheeks. if you click on the image and see it in its original size, you'd be able to see the difference clearly. (I know not a great picture because no black liner, no lip balm on my lips and not presentable at all.)
My thoughts
I didn't like this at first as when I first applied it on my face I felt it was a little sticky (chip-chip), strong fragrance (but I liked) BUT a little was enough to be easily spread on my face. I did feel that it was peeling my skin because my skin looked thinner and plump by the 5th day. I think it was the acids which were working. The salicylic acid worked positively for my skin (thank God) because my skin sometimes get irritated by it. While stickiness remained the same, I started liking the fragrance. While I didn't like its texture a lot because of stickiness, I loved the after effects on my face. The downside of this product would be its strong fragrance and its too expensive price.
I don't think I'm soon going to purchase the full bottle of this because of its price (clearly) but I would highly recommend to those who can spend. It was friendly with my sensitive skin so I think it would be friendly with yours too.
