Step into The All American Diner and you feel like you have walked into a time machine that has transported you back to the 1950s. It was like a scene straight out of one of the vintage movies- typical retro style complete with red rexine sofas and posters of personalities of that era. Thankfully I just about managed to recognize Lucy and Betty. The best though had to be miniature cut outs of Marilyn Monroe & Elvis busy shaking a leg.The menu is quite extensive & the food shots so appealing that I just could not wait to get started. The peanut butter malt is a thick blend of milk, peanut butter and vanilla icecream. If you are a peanut butter lover then you will find the malt sensational. For starters, the non veg sampler featured buffalo wings in a spicy tangy red sauce, crunchy chicken strips and golden fried prawns which were delicious.Next came the fish fry- a tribute to the Beatles homeland. It was succulent fish in a crispy batter which was superb with chunky potato wedges and a mild tartar sauce. The Mexican chicken burger looked like it had popped out from one of the international food shows featured on a lifestyle channel. Chicken fillets delicately spiced with sauted brown onions were wolfed down in no time.By now I was feeling so full that I should have stopped but walking away from my favorite part – dessert felt like a cardinal sin. I just had to hang in there. Nothing screams American diner louder than a lime pie. Tangy and zesty it was absolutely delicious. The chocolate silk pie was so rich & smooth, I felt I was in chocolate heaven. I was seriously in need of either the segway or the doubles bicycle to cart me out of there by now.
Or I could stroll around the Promenade and once my food was digested enjoy the jet ski or kayaking at Lakeshore Watersports Lavasa and follow it up with a luxury boat ride.
