Reinventing the Trench

Change of plan folks, the trench has gone SLEEVELESS. No, I kid, I’ll never dare to defy the Hepper’s and there she is ^ showing us how it’s done and teaching us a thing or two about classy, demure fashion; tip’s we still carry with us 50 years later.

The trench, mac, raincoat; call it what you want, is a seriously iconic, don’t-mess-with-me coat, that I can’t imagine not existing. It’s been around for ages and I think it will still be around for ages more. It’s chic, simple, timeless, classic, elegant and seriously easy to wear because it goes with everything.

My dream would be to own a Burberry Classic Trench – oh the envy. However, for now, I decided that reinventing this iconic piece, was a risk I was willing to take. Especially when the ‘oh-so-expensive’ one I am wearing was a serious Boohoo.com bargain.

It’s my take on the classic trench and what I love about it is that it can be worn as a dress (buttoned and fastened up), or as an over-coat (undone or tied loosely) – its not really serving any warmth purposes so it’s for image only of course. On top of that diverse little bonus, it also doesn’t hide your outfit, you can show both your outfit and your coat off – voilà!

Anyway, I’m hardly being experimental here and it’s not being given the justice it deserves by being modelled by moi feat. plain black outfit, shiny red shoes, messy hair and no makeup; however, here it is, the trench reinvented – to some extent.

Oh and P.S if you happen to have a spare mac around (does anyone have that?) with defunct arms, then chop them off and make your very own sleeveless mac. It’s hardly bloody genious, so I won’t take any credit.
