LOCATION
Red Planet Cagayan de Oro is a few minutes by foot from Gaisano City Mall, Limketkai Center, and Abreeza, which are practically the city’s most prominent commercial centers, while the city center is a short jeepney ride away. Laguindingan Airport can be reached by arranged public shuttle service, by private car, or by bus from Agora Terminal, which can also be reached by jeepney.
STYLE/CHARACTER
Red Planet Cagayan de Oro is part of a regional chain of value hotels under the same brand. Red Planet Hotels currently has properties in the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand.
The chain’s proposition is to provide “a high quality, comfortable stay in desirable locations at attractive prices.” Their brand’s image, as reflected in their hotels, is young, dynamic, and tech-savvy. But as a value hotel, of course, its services are limited compared to conventional ones.
ROOMS
Their rooms, though compact compared to regular hotel rooms, look and feel immaculately clean, thanks to the whitewashed walls and minimal decor. Each room offers the same conveniences: a comfortable bed complemented by fluffy pillows and fitted with crisp sheets, an LED TV, air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, a folding desk, electronic safe, hair dryer, and universal outlets. The spotless bathroom, meanwhile, is equipped with a relaxing hot and cold power shower.
FACILITIES
The hotel does not have a lot of facilities to speak of, but it does have a restaurant that also breakfast, common-use PC’s, and overnight parking spaces.
SERVICE
Although considered as a limited service hotel, it provides the basics: efficient and hospitable front officers, 24/7 security personnel aided by CCTV’s, and courteous housekeeping staff.
VALUE FOR MONEY
Although Red Planet Cagayan de Oro lacks some of the services and facilities of conventional hotels, it compensates through the comfort of the rooms, the friendly service, the topnotch security, the cleanliness, and of course, the central and convenient location. All these factored in, their affordable rates provide great value for money.
