It's come to my attention that I have something of a problem. A Sephora problem. How do I know this? Two trips in the space of a week... Oops. Oh well.
In honor of my new weekly series taking place on Wednesdays and which will feature all things beauty (it doesn't have a name because I'm not having a creative day), I figured I'd do a haul of my most recent purchases. If I were super on top of things, I'd even try to do a video but we're not going to venture into that territory quite yet. Even though I read/watched an awesome series on how to start beauty blogging/vlogging by Anna of Vivianna Does Makeup and Lily of Lily Pebbles!
I finally got my paws on Urban Decay's Naked 3. And I. am. in. love. I also have Naked 2, which I also adore, but there's just something about the rosy hues of these shadows that makes me extremely happy. They're also really flattering, particularly as I have neutral-to-rosy undertones. Like any and all Urban Decay shadows, they're really pigmented and of excellent quality. They stay well both with and without a primer, which is rare for my oily lids. And like the previous Naked incarnations, there's a great slew of matte, satin, and shimmery shades.
I also went on the hunt for the perfect MLBB (my lips but better - get with the lippie program, will you). I had a great pink (Sephora's Glamour, which is now discontinued...thanks, Sephora), but it's mostly gone. I went to the MAC counter to see if they had a reasonable dup and walked away with the two above - Craving and Brave. One's a really great pinky nude and the other is just the most perfect pink ever. And I've heard some really great things about the Kate Moss for Rimmel lippies, so when I saw them on sale at my local CVS, I knew I had to grab one to try! And this shade (107) is great. It's a deep, berry red. Exactly the shade I've been looking for all winter!
I am mostly out of my Smashbox primer, and since my foundation is Chanel, I ventured to the Chanel counter at Macy's to see what their primer offerings are and walked away with Le Blanc, which is touted as a "lightweight, oil-free base [that] helps correct uneven skin tone, smooth imperfections and extend the wear of any foundation that follows to reveal a radiant complexion." Let me tell you. This product is pricey, but it is so worth it. Used prior to my Perfection Lumiere, my face really does look luminous and lit from within. It's wonderful. That said, I am only using it sparingly because of the price. But this product is gold.
I also went to Sephora and finally had myself matched via their Color IQ system. Which is really cool, and you should go try it if you haven't already. Makes foundation shopping so easy. I walked out with two samples of BB creams, a foundation medium I haven't tried yet (yeah, yeah - I'm late to the game). I liked both of them so much, I couldn't choose! The Urban Decay BB is sheer and transclucent but boy, does it still deliver. It blurs imperfections and makes your skin velvety smooth. It also is supposed to benefit your skin over time, which I am really excited about since skincare is really important. I've actually been wearing this under foundation or the Dr. Jart+ BB as primer just because it doesn't really cover, per se. But for weekends or running out of the house quickly, this product seems great. And the Dr. Jart+ BB. This product just does it all! It has anti-aging properties (I'm in my late 20s so this is something I need to focus on), covers really well but is still light, moisturizes but somehow also controls oil, and leaves the most gorgeous dewy finish. It might become my new everyday face base!
