rava idli recipe
idli recipe using semolina/rava
Ingredients
- idli rava - 1 cup
- grated carrot - 1/4 cup
- curd - 1/2 cup
- green chilli - 2 nos finely chopped
- cashews - roughly chopped
- hing - a pinch
- eno - 1/8 teaspoon
- salt -to taste
- oil - 1 teaspoon
- mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
- urad dal/black gram - 1/4 teaspoon
- Roast the rava in a dry wok without making it brown.Wait till it came to room temperature.
- Now in a mixing bowl and add curd,salt,along with roasted rava to it and mix it well.
- To that add grated carrots and add water little by little and make a thick batter.
- In a kadai,heat oil and add mustard seeds and black gram seeds.After they splutter add cashews and green chilli,hing to it.
- Add the tempering to the batter and mix it well.
- Finally add eno salt to it and mix it quickly.Grease the idli pan and fill the pan with the batter and steam cook for upto 5 to 10 minutes.
- Once the steam releases,remove the pan and serve the idlis piping hot with desired chutneys.
