Summer vacation ends in a couple weeks and we have been out and about, trying to make the most of the remaining days. We've traveling, eating out, hanging out with friends and family- doing all that we can within the safety protocols.
With the number of cases rising all across USA, it is important that we continue doing our part. We need to social distance, wear masks when indoors and keep sanitizing more frequently. It's the need of the hour to continue doing things that we were diligently doing last year. We need to remember that the Pandemic isn't over, it is pretty much around.
While other things are under control, I'm a little wary about sending daughter back to school. With kids under 12 not being vaccinated and the Delta variant cases on the rise, my anxiety is on the rise too. Last year I was less worried about sending my daughter to school, but this year I'm feeling the pressure. I am totally blaming it on the gut-wrenching death stories I've heard so far. For now I'm just trying to keep my sanity and praying that this new variant peaks before the school reopens.
Outfit details
I was at Anthropologie this past Sunday to check out their latest arrivals. Call it mere coincidence or just a popular item, two ladies bought the as you see on me. I was at one cashier paying for my stuff, while the other cashier was ringing that dress for one customer and another customer stood in the line with the same dress. So two sales of the same dress in less than two minutes- little uncanny but true!!!
Talking about the weekend, so it entailed a less-than-24-hour visit to my favorite city- NYC! My nephew turned nine and since we couldn't attend his birthday last year, we went Friday night and came back late Saturday night after the Saturday celebrations. In between we even managed to check out Gantry park, a dog-friendly park which we really loved. A short trip but a heart-fulfilling trip.
If you follow me on you would know that the jewelry was gifted to me by an Indian brand called Vezoora jewelry. It is a woman-owned wholesale business based out of Mumbai, India. Neha the owner started this business with a purpose to empower local woman artisans and harness their creativity. Each piece is handcrafted and unique in it's own respect. She was kind enough to send me 10 pieces and I have to say that I'm in love with all.
Good news- they ship to US.
It rarely happens that Instacart messes up my order. But, last Thursday I put an order for some fresh produce and some beverages and they totally messed it up. Someone else's order was delivered to me. They offered me a full refund for it but since I needed those items for a photoshoot the next day I requested a redelivery. They delivered my new order offering me one month free deliver as a courtesy.
Not only that, no one came to get the wrong order so I ended up keeping that order as well. Whoever's order it was, I'm sure was a plant-based, healthy eater. There was coconut oil, coconut spray, coconut milk, avocado, plant-based sausages, bananas a few more healthy things. I would totally consume all of it. I was one happy camper post all this mess.
" Van Gogh- The Immersive experience " finally arrived in DC. I was beyond exhilarated to be invited to the VIP party with my family last Tuesday. The digital experience is phenomenal and getting to learn about the famous Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh through this exhibit was ecstatic. He was color blind but his creations have the most exquisite color combinations. If you are ever able to visit one, don't miss the chance. You will thank me for pushing you to visit it.
Last but not the least, my heart goes out to Afghanistan. Whatever is happening there is beyond my comprehension. It is inhuman, injustice and unfair. May God bless them all.
