A bakery, deli and coffee place all rolled into one, this place offers 5 star quality products at local eatery rates. Sounds impressive you bet but wait till you taste the menu and you will be gob smacked.
There’s something to satiate every palette from beverages to specialty breads to even chocolates.PBC is the brainchild of Chef Ajmal Salim, the executive pastry chef who is now the Director of F & B. He is known for his chocolate sculptures ranging from a Jimmy Choo shoe to a highly realistic looking smart phone. Believe you me had I not known they were completely edible works of art, I would have mistaken them for the real deal.
I started with the Frappe- a thick, frothy gigantic mug of lip smacking yumminess. A must try. Next came the gorgeous looking range of pastries. I had to quite literally stop myself from drooling in anticipation. The New York style cheesecake was incredibly smooth while the Red velvet mascarpone was light as a feather. My personal favorite had to be the Old fashioned slice- a dense chocolaty piece of heaven.The spinach and mushroom quiche was nice and creamy. Another good savory option is the make your own sandwich. I chose the multigrain bread with a filling of roast chicken and topped with a thick layer of cheese. Hearty is an absolute understatement.There is a wide selection of specialty breads some of which I have not had the pleasure of eating until now. Volcorn broth and Neropan were both multigrain breads but not with the usual coarseness associated with wholegrain breads. Good things come in small packages- this was apt for the various chocolates. The nut bars were phenomenal.
