Pulse

We've talked about chickpeas before. Also known as garbanzo beans and ceci beans, they are a wonderful vegetarian and vegan protein alternative, whether or not you normally adhere to that kind of diet.
If you are like me, once late afternoon hits, especially during a long workday, my blood sugar can get low and I need a little something to get me through the rest of the day. A protein-packed snack is the best type to choose, so for me that sometimes means a handful of unsalted nuts, a coffee run, or a TBSP of hummus with carrots or rice crackers. Pulse
Butterfield Market in New York City carries all of these selections, and now also carries Pulse Organic Roasted Chickpeas, but you can find them in other specialty markets as well if that's not your neighborhood.
With 4g of fiber, 5g of protein and only 1.5 grams of fat, I enjoyed this guiltless snack in the balsamic variety. They are crunchy and a nice balance of savory and sweet, due to the blend of vinegar, coconut sugar and salt. Stop by and see what healthy pick-me-up works for you!
