Products I Love: Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm
I've never really gotten behind the BB cream trend, always preferring to go the primer, foundation (or tinted moisturizer) route. Until recently, that is. I went into my local Sephora to (finally) be matched for foundation using their Color IQ system, and was set up with a sample of Dr. Jart+ BB cream. Stuff's great. But the helpful salesperson also threw in a sample of Urban Decay's Naked Skin Beauty Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 20. That's a mouthful. But ladies. This product is genius
Touted as minimizing "the appearance of pores, lines, wrinkles, and redness instantly for skin that looks firmer in 8 weeks," this cream (which now comes in 3 shades, instead of one) is unlike anything I've tried before. When I first put it on, I was surprised by how sheer it is. It provides almost no color whatsoever (definitely nothing like a foundation) - clearly I hadn't read anything about the product yet. Instead, it blurs. It's insane. Slap some on, and tiny imperfections seem to disappear. It doesn't cover my redness as much as I'd like, but a product can't do it all. But as far as the rest of its claims, it's spot on. My skin has looked happier since using it.
Normally, I wear it under the Dr. Jart+ BB cream as a sort of primer, or pair it with some foundation to cover up my problem areas. And with each, it's perfect! It illuminates and creates a smooth base for the rest of your makeup. And it has a minty smell (don't ask me why, but I'm not complaining). And when I need to run out of the house quickly or I don't feel like putting on a full face, this product is gold. Pure gold. And it has anti-aging and sun protection benefits. What more could a girl want?
