I've been hearing a lot, lately, about lip products that are formulated to react with your lips' pH, resulting in a custom shade of pink (I swear something similar was done in the '90s...does anyone else recall this?). Since I love a good pink lip, I had to try it out, and when I last ventured into my local Sephora, I picked up there version, the Color Adapt Gloss. At $12, it's much nicer on the wallet than the comparable things out there (I'm looking at you, Dior) and it also comes in a balm version, which I might have to get for those days when I'm not looking for a shiny finish.
After a few days wear, I'm definitely a fan! The gloss goes on smoothly and has a high shine factor but isn't tacky or sticky. The applicator is one of the best I've found in a lip gloss and makes the product extremely easy to apply, even sans mirror. The color takes a couple minutes to develop, but you're left with a really nice, rose color that is flattering. I'd be interested to see how different it is per person (anyone else have this gloss and want to compare?), but the color is a win. Not too dark, sheer but definitely visible. And it lasts! Hours after I first applied the gloss in the morning, the shine had worn off but the pink color was still there. And it deepens with each application of gloss. Win!
