Post Workout Smoothies

One important factor in getting the most results from the time you spend in the gym is nutrition. If your nutrition is on target you will see some amazing results from your workouts. Post workout nutrition is key. You need to fuel the body with the right nutrients right after your workout. A post workout smoothie will make this easy for you.

Berry Protein Smoothies

4-5 cube of ice ( more depending on how thick you like your smoothie)
1 1/2 cups of frozen blueberries
1/2 banana
2 tablespoons of honey
3/4 cup 2% milk
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

In a blender combine blue berries, banana and milk. Blend until desired thickness.

Add protein powder, ice and honey and blend for another minute. Less time if you like it thicker or longer if you like it thinner.

This is a low-calorie, high protein, great tasting snack for after your workout that is easy to make for your busy life. For extra calories add some natural peanut butter. Experiment with your favorite fruits to make your favorite smoothie. If you like it thicker you can add some fat-free yogurt as well. Don’t forget the protein powder. Protein is important just after your workout. This is when protein synthesis occurs.

If you are looking to lose weight you need to be eating every 3-4 hours. This will keep your metabolism up and keep your blood sugars under control. Just be cautious of how many calories you are consuming. Eat smaller meals more frequently. Smoothies will make a great healthy snack between meals.
