Why proteins are so important:

Proteins are important for the healing of muscles along with muscle contraction, muscle growth and cardiovascular functions. Bottom line without the right amount of protein in our diet the muscles would not heal as quickly. This could eventually lead to overtraining and injury.

After working out is a crucial time to take in protein. This is when the protein is delivered to the muscles. This is when the healing process starts. Protein shakes are a great way to get the protein your body needs after your workout. It takes about 30 minutes for the protein to reach the muscle after drinking a shake. Eating a solid protein will take a lot longer for your body to digest. It takes the body a longer time to break down the protein and send it to the muscles.

Taking a protein shake immediately after your workout will give the body the nutrients it needs to start the healing process. After that it is a better choice to eat a solid protein throughout the day.
