Poorly Little A’s

We are really lucky (touch wood) that the Little A’s very rarely get properly ill.  Yes they get the usual colds and things but I can probably count on one hand the amount of times Little Mr A has been properly poorly.

On Friday, coming home from Scotland, both the Little A’s were not right.  They both looked pale and both slept, a lot which was in complete contrast to the way there when they were full of it!  After we had stopped for lunch, Little Miss A promptly vomited all over herself.  It was really horrible to see and I did my best to hold her up and stop her choking.  Queue a quick, scary stop at the side of the motorway to clean her up and we managed to get home without any more incidents.

Over the weekend Little Miss A was full of cold and feeling very sorry for herself, however, Little Mr A seemed to perk up.  Until Sunday night.  He didn’t want to eat his tea but I thought perhaps he just didn’t want what I had given to him.  After a bath he said he was going to be sick.  After a while of holding his head over the toilet he threw up.  This carried on until 2.30am on and off until he finally went to sleep properly.  I had a rather restless sleep with two poorly Little A’s in my bed.

Monday came and Little Mr A only managed a little water before throwing this up too.  He couldn’t keep anything down all day and we camped out on the sofa watching far too much children’s TV.  I think a little bit of my brain has been lost to Disney Junior – I even got far too emotional watching The Search for Santa Paws!

Today started much better.  Little Miss A seemed much happier and Little Mr A had perked up a bit, although still wasn’t well enough for school.  We spent another morning lounging on the sofa and then this afternoon they have been pretty much back to their normal selves, fighting over toys and winding each other up!

At teatime I was congratulating myself over having a vomit free day when Little Miss A gagged on some of her tea and threw up all over herself again!

Thankfully the rest of the evening has gone OK, and, fingers crossed, we will be able to get back into our routine tomorrow and Little Mr A should be back to school.

It is typical with Big Mr A being away they should come down with a sickness bug!  It is normally his job to clean up whatever comes out the top end as I can’t stand it!
