That’s right, if you have a business and you have poor Customer Service, it can cost you your business!

If you’re getting paid to provide Customer Service than Do It!

Case and point:  You walk into Lowes or Home Depot looking for a specific item. You see several sales representatives standing around chatting with one another. It’s clear that you are having difficulty finding what you want. Do the sales reps help to assist you? No? That’s Poor Customer Service.

Case and point:  You have the flu and feel sick as hell. You go to your doctor’s office in which there are several other sick people there. You walk to the front desk only to be spoken to rudely by the person at the front window. Mind you, you are feeling like death and you are treated as a leper? That’s Poor Customer Service.

Restaurants with Poor Customer Service Suck

Cranky and I went out to the range shooting on Saturday. On the way home, we made a few stops and then decided to grab lunch. Cheddar’s was close, so I suggested there.

Cheddars

We interrupt this Broadcast to bring you a bit of history. This is Cranky and Bitchy’s third time eating at Cheddar’s. The previous two times were seriously lacking in Customer Service however they decided to try one more time.

I really hate to call restaurants out publicly, but we were both irate after leaving and decided “Hey! This might be a good blog post!”

The atmosphere

I don’t know if you have Cheddar’s near you but the one near me is always loud. Their food, in my opinion, is mediocre. We were merely seeking a good sandwich or burger.

The hostess met us at the door and promptly sat us in a booth. I prefer a booth over a table any day. We were given our menu’s and left, and left, and left. Several waitress’s walked by us helping others who were seated around us but we continued to sit. It took us about 15 minutes to get our damn drinks! The waitress who assisted us was one who kept walking by us and conversing with other customers.

Let me interject now. Anyone who knows me, knows I am by far NOT a racist.

15 minutes! By that point, we already knew what we wanted to eat and promptly ordered. We got two burgers and spinach cheese dip.

The service

We sat there observing the activities going on around us. The waitresses were conversing with other customers and laughing. WE did not get this treatment. 10-15 minutes later we received the spinach cheese dip. Yes, we already needed refills on our drinks but that took yet another 10 minutes to get!

Then it was time for the burgers. You got a burger and one side dish. I opted for french fries, and Cranky got cole slaw. He definitely should have gotten french fries because the cole slaw in his dish equalled about three teaspoons full! Ripped off!

After continuing to wait for our drink refills and our waitress passing by us several times, we overheard the manager speaking to a couple behind us. It was their first visit there, so they received FREE COOKIES! But wait a minute! We never received FREE COOKIES! I want some damn cookies!

Apparently, and again I am not racist, but we were the wrong color. We didn’t get free cookies. We waited forever and a day to order, to get drinks, and for our refills. The waitress then wanted to push dessert on us and did not want to take “No” for an answer. I think she finally read my facial expression and knew after I said “Just the check please” twice, that I meant business.

Third time was not a charm

After giving Cheddar’s the benefit of the doubt three times over a 6-month span, we are removing them as an option for us to eat. All three times we received lousy customer service. From waiting long to not being checked on to see if we needed anything else, to lack of napkins and condiments, just very poor service.

If Your Business has Poor Customer Service, It Could Cost You!

Thankfully I’m a woman who likes to tip based on good service. My minimum is 20%. I think that’s definitely fair, and if you’re cute and make me laugh, you will get more. However, this waitress was so inattentive to our needs; we didn’t even give her 15%. She honestly didn’t deserve a damn thing.

Suffice to say

Cheddar’s lost good customers and earned a spot on my blog today. I hope that other’s appreciate their lack of service because the food definitely does not make up for that.

If you treat your Customers poorly, they will retaliate.

Over to you

Have you ever eating at Cheddar’s? If so, what was your experience?

How about other customer service experiences that left angry and waiting to spread their poor service to the world?

I’d love to hear from you.
