Be prepare to be enraged if you’re a tax payer in America. Do you actually realize where, and to who tax dollars go? A big percentage goes to support America’s ever-growing government. However, a considerable amount is spent on entitlements; Food Stamps, Medicaid, WIC, and HUD –among other social programs. Let’s, for the purpose of this discussion, debate the Food Stamp Program. How, and on what Food Stamps are allowed to be spent on.

Without a doubt, there’s a definite need for these hand-up programs. No human with a heart wants to see others suffer –especially children. That said, no one wants to see their tax dollars poked in a slot machine, drank up in alcohol, snorted up someone else’s nose, or on a pizza. Similarly, no tax payer takes kindly to paying thousands in financial aid to someone who never intends to use the degree earned. This type of ridiculous, frivolous spending has crippled the American economy.

In Oregon, Food Stamp recipients are allowed to purchase pizza from a local pizzeria (Papa Murphy’s). Similarly, soda, candy, and an array of other unhealthy foods are allowed to be purchased. The logic, or lack thereof, puzzles this American. These foods (using the term loosely), cause health issues –which cost the Tax Payers billions in Medicaid and Medicare costs! Sounds counter-productive to me!

It’s no wonder the charitable attitude of Americans is at an all-time low! They are mighty tired of getting taken advantage of. Most Americans don’t mind giving a hand up; however, I know of none who like to give a hand out. Americans must gain control over our ever-spending Government, and how they run these programs! It’s time to decipher between who needs a hand up, and those who need a swift kick in the ass! Furthermore, it’s time those who take have respect for those who give –willingly or unwillingly!
