Bonjour!
To celebrate Bastille Day, I thought I’d share some of the photos from my trip to Paris for my birthday in 2013.
That sounds quite extravagant, doesn’t it? Ducking off to Paris at a moment’s notice always sounds a bit fabulous, but I should say I was already in London on holidays and I just happened to have a day up my sleeve and, well, I wanted to feel like someone who went to Paris for the day.
So as the sun rose over London, I headed to London St Pancras International train station to jump on board the Eurostar for the three-hour trip to Paris.
And once I’d arrived, it didn’t matter that my handbag broke before I’d even left the train station (any excuse for a new bag …) and I cried into my Pain au Chocolat while sitting on the side of the Champs-Elysées waiting for RW to arrive and keep me company.
Okay, it mattered a little bit. It was my birthday and I was, temporarily all alone, with no one to share my carbs or tell me how wonderful I was.
But then he arrived, literally dried my tears and we headed off to window shop at Chanel and Gucci, people watch while eating ice-cream at the Le Jardin des Tuileries, visit the love locked Pont des Arts bridge and stock up on macarons from the iconic Ladurée.
