In the wee hours (that's the hard part) before dawn is the best time to spot them. The Perseids are one of the biggest meteor showers of the year -- 50-60 per hour --and the prime days for viewing are August 11,12, and 13, with the 13th predicted to be the best. If you have clear skies, a view of the northeast, and not too much light interference, you're set for a heavenly treat.
