Patnitop is an enchanting hilltop, positioned at an altitude of 2024 meters from sea level. The original name of this place was ‘Patan Da Talab’ meaning ‘pond of a princess’, it is said that certain princess often used to bath here. But the Britishers mistook the name and the named changed to Patnitop. It is situated on a plateau in the Shiwalik belt of the Himalayas. River Chenab flowing close to this location and thickly covered by Cedar/Deodhar trees makes this place even more visitable. The paragliding rides are guided at Dawariyai, 2 km milestone, on the Patnitop-Sanasar road. You can also ask for paragliding at the Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) barricade. The flight taking off from Patnitop to Kud lasts 8 to 15 minutes and if the take is from Natha Top and landing at Kud than you can relish the adventure from 15 minutes to 1 hour relying on the wind conditions.
