Parrothead Jerky

Parrothead Jerky

A Twisted Margarita!

My husband was very happy to wake up this morning to the aroma of tequila and lime. We aren’t big drinkers although we both enjoy margaritas and I love local wines….mostly I love visiting local wineries and tasting! My husband, the parrothead, loves margaritas and anything else associated with the Jimmy Buffett lifestyle. I will explain that in another next post.
The reason it smelled like a mixed drink in the kitchen this morning is because I came up with a new marinade, at his request, for beef jerky. Yep, among the other retro kitchen arts that I practice, making jerky is at the top of the list!
I have a special cut of meat I like for my jerky and I make several different flavors. Today and tomorrow I’m making Parrothead Jerky and Hot As A Pistol Jerky. It should be finished sometime tomorrow so I’ll be posting the recipes and pictures (I learned that from Brandie a www.thecountrycook.net – she’s a top shelf cook). The jerky must marinade 24 hours and then sit in the dehydrator for hours and hours until it is perfect!
In the meantime, I think I will try to make some homemade brownies and a chocolate pie. I will take pictures and since I am Domestically Impaired, they may be more humorous than informative but I’ll do it anyway! Even if, as I often do, I get frustrated at my mistakes and dump it all in the trash I will photographically record the results. See ya soon!
