The Friends is excited to be partnering with the Boston Children's Chorus to bring community singing events to parks around the City. We wanted to share a snapshot of a few of the parks we will be visiting as part of WE SING. We hope you'll take this opportunity to visit some of these beautiful greenspaces throughout the City and let us know what you love about these spaces!
ABOUT CLIFFORD PARK
WE SING: ROXBURY
Sunday, July 18 & Sunday, August 1
2:00pm - 3:30pm
Clifford Playground
160 Norfolk Avenue, Boston, MA 02119
Spacious and well-used, Clifford Park, also known as the Prairie, is Newmarket Square's place to play and attracts local residents for its baseball fields and playground. Clifford is also the homefield for The BASE, a nationally renowned city sports program that helps children across Boston and beyond succeed through athleticism and education.
The City of Boston is currently working in collaboration with a non-profit partner to plan and redesign Clifford Park with the goal to install or refresh amenities from the baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground, spray pad, dog run, to a community gathering space. Making the space even more welcoming is a key element of the redesign plan and the future definitely looks bright for Clifford Park!

The National Urban Baseball Classic Boston is a youth baseball tournament that shines a spotlight on urban youth and communities. Teams from around the country attend the annual event. Normally held in mid-summer, the event has been cancelled this year due to the pandemic.

Chin Park on The Greenway
Surface Road and Beach Street, Boston, MA 02111
Located in the Chinatown part of the Greenway, Auntie Kay & Uncle Frank Chin Park contains design elements drawn from Asian traditions and artwork. This unique space contains a serpentine walkway edged by bamboo within bright red sculptural elements, and a fountain with a waterfall and shallow riverbed. Recent renovations to the park include the removal and replacement of safety tiles in the play area and the replacement of lighting throughout the park.
This space honors the commitment of Auntie Kay & Uncle Frank Chin to Boston's Chinatown. The Chins improved the quality of life for Chinatown residents with their passion for public service. This special greenspace is a reflection of the Chins' love for each other, as well as the Chinatown community.
