An oven can quickly and easily become dirty. Food will splash and overflow onto it to cause stains, odors can build up, fat can dry on the inside and outside and steam and smoke can cloud things up. We use the oven everyday so this mess and dirt can build up before we know and if left, it can become too much to handle. With so much to tackle, you must be fully prepared to fight all of this and know exactly what you need and what to do.

When it comes to cleaning any sort of item, the first and most important step is always to act quickly. The moment any sort of spills happens or a stain appears you should act fast to eliminate it. Leaving it can cause it to dry and become embedded in the oven, making hard to clean later and it will continue to affect your food. In order to tackle this you will need paper towels and cloths. These should always be on hand and fully stocked so you are always ready for a mess.

If any food stains any part of the oven, wipe it up once you have finished cooking and it is witched off. For split food, wipe it up with a paper towel to remove most of it and then eliminate the rest with a clean sheet. Use a damp cloth to remove whatever is left. For liquids, apply paper towel to soak up most of it, then dab with another sheet to absorb the rest. Wipe with a damp cloth to remove any that lingers. If you take these steps the moment a stain threatens your oven, you will always keep it clean.

For any existing stains and marks, it won’t be as simple to just wipe them up so you have to put in more work. To loosen up the dirt, you can mix bicarbonate (baking) soda to water until it becomes a paste. Apply this onto and/or into your oven and leave to dry overnight. The next dry you can scrub away at it with a wet cloth as it will have loosened all of the stains. You can also use commercial cleaning products to this, with a wide range available. Look at the different types and makes on sale at your local store and see which is most suitable for your oven. Always use trusted brands and buy from a dependable store in order to get a product that is effective and safe.

Cleaning your oven may seem tough but if you follow these tips then it will be easy.
