Our 99p Summer of Fun #my99psummer

By Mummyoftwo @RaspberryGiggle

This summer the 99p store challenged 50 bloggers to see how much fun they could have with just £10. We were provided with a £10 voucher then off we went to our nearest store.

We were impressed with the selection of toys and craft items available, particularly the outdoor water toys.

Little Mr A had a great time selecting lots of outdoor toys and we also bought a make it yourself teddy bear for that inevitable rainy day.

As soon as we got home Little Mr A insisted on getting some of the bits out. He had great fun with the 'rocket' and foam disc shooter we had bought, it kept him entertained for ages and ever since it has been a toy he has kept going back to. I don't know why I spend lots of money on expensive toys when a 99p rocket keeps him entertained for longer! Little Miss A was more than happy playing with the plastic bath toys we had bought for her.

With the outside water toys we waited for a lovely warm day and then got out into the garden to have a splash about and blow some bubbles. Both the Little A's had a great morning playing.

Luckily we haven't had too many rainy days this summer, however, come the last week of the holidays, Little Mr A was getting bored so we got out the craft, make it yourself teddy. It was a little difficult for him to do by himself and he needed a lot of help but it was nice to sit down together and make it, having a bit of quiet time - something that has been lacking over the last 6 weeks! Little Mr A likes his new teddy and he is safely tucked up in his bed!

I am really pleased we got to take part in this challenge. It has shown me that you don't need to spend lots of money to have fun. With just £10 we have been able to keep both of the Little A's entertained over the 6 week holidays. We were so impressed with some of the items we actually went back to the store and bought some as prizes for Little Mr A's birthday party!

Next school holidays I will certainly consider the 99p store for toys and activities to keep the Little A's entertained!
