One Item, Three Ways: Metallic Pleated Skirt

By Blondeambition @BrookeFalvey

When Hayley from asked if I was up to the challenge of styling her gorgeous new Gold Dust Pleated Skirt three ways, I said "hell yeah".

I love pleated skirts and currently have more than a handful in my wardrobe in a variety of colours including red, navy, black, silver and pink. And now, thanks to She Street, I've got this gorgeous gold shimmering skirt.

Why do I love them so much? Because they're a great staple. A metallic pleated skirt is a nice way to mix up your weekday looks and there are actually tons of ways you can wear them (hello, versatility!).

A good pleated skirt can be worn with everything from stripes to a slogan tee; a fine knit jumper or an oversized sweater. You can go ultra feminine with your choice of accessories, or wear it with ankle boots and a leather jacket. The possibilities are endless.

The Gold Dust Pleated Skirt is midi skirt length (I will probably take mine up so it falls just below my knee), is a dark gold with black on the reverse which looks great when it swishes and it's available in size S-XL (8-14) and features a half elastic waist. (I'm wearing a size L and I generally fit an Aus 10-12).

And at just $59, it's a great piece to add to your Autumn/Winter wardrobe, safely knowing that you'll still be able to get plenty of wear out of it come summer.

Casual Friday
One item, three ways: Metallic pleated skirt

A great relaxed look that works for weekends or casual Friday in the office is a pleated midi with a slightly oversized jumper. You could go for a bright clashing colour or opt for something complementary like I did, tying in the gold of the skirt with the appliqué detailing on this H&M jumper.

Inspired by Alexa Chung, I decided to amp up my love affair with stripes with this bright and bold knit tee from ASOS. If you're feeling a little less showy, swap the accessories for black or nude and opt for a classic black/white Breton tee.

Add a singlet and fitted leather jacket to bring a little rockstar toughness into the look. You could even swap stilettos for a pair of heeled ankle boots.
