Ohh so Goody, Fudgy Brownies Recipe
A friend requested me to bake some brownies for her post birthday “Desserts and Makeup” celebration last weekend. It has been a while since I baked a batch so I’m happy that it turned out good. Rich, fudgy, yummy!
The secret to a dense, fudgy brownies is underbaking. Just as you start to smell the chocolatey aroma, or when the sides are already forming a crust, it’s time to check for doneness. If the toothpick inserted is no longer wet or gooey, pull them out in the oven immediately and place the pan on a tub of ice (just make sure the brownies will not get wet) or chuck it into the freezer to cool it down fast. That way, the brownies will be fudgy and you get to eat them right away! Coz, who likes waiting, right?
So, to make, here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Ghirardelli ground chocolate
2/3 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 organic eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon The Vanilla Co. vanilla extract
1/2 cup Elle & Vire butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a mixing bowl, stir eggs with sugar and vanilla; add melted butter.
Sift all the dry ingredients together: Ghirardelli ground chocolate, flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir into egg mixture; add nuts.
Spread into greased 8 inch square pan.
Bake for approximately 20 minutes. As mentioned above, check for doneness when you see the sides forming a crust.
Insert a toothpick. If the batter is no longer gooey, take it out of the oven and place on top of a tub of ice or inside the freezer right away.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
Happy birthday Joy!
