Between today, the 23rd March, and the 2nd April I'm going to be away. I won't be in your usual adventure travel/expedition destination, I'll be in Iraq! I'm tagging along with the latest Secret Compass expedition to climb Iraq's highest mountain, Cheekah Dar. The mountain has only been climbed twice before, once in Summer and once in Winter. This will be the first commercial expedition to the mountain and only the second Winter ascent - while it actually means very little I'll be pretty chuffed with being the youngest on the exped, and the youngest to have been up the mountain!
I'm back on the second to recommence regular blogging, while I'm away there will be the odd scheduled post. First expedition of the year he I come... and country number 30!
