I wanted to get this up before October ended, but obviously
that didn’t happen! I’ve had my Vegan
Cuts Beauty Box for maybe a week now, just waiting to be photographed and
discussed. So now its time has finally arrived and I will share the contents
with you! J
So, on to the goodies!
I’ll start with the largest item. It is from Bare Bones Body Care and it is their Cleanser. It contains the simplest of
ingredients: Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Rose Water, Organic Tea Tree Oil. I
like skin care with simple and minimal ingredients – there’s less for my skin
to negatively react to. It smells clean, so that’s a nice thing! J It’s a nice big glass
bottle too! It is described on the card as “An organic, no-suds cleanser that’s
gentle enough for all skin types, even the most sensitive.” Sounds good to me! J
Moving on to some makeup, we have a loose Mineral Eyeshadow from Concrete Minerals. Mine is in the shade
“Troublemaker,” which is a shimmery cool medium chocolate shade. It looks
really pretty, so that’s exciting! J
The card says, “Shimmery, ultra-glamorous, and highly-pigmented mineral
eyeshadow made without parabens and fillers.” Definitely one of my favorite items in this box!
Continuing with makeup, next we have a Cream Blush for Lips and Cheeks from The All Natural Face. It is in the shade “Dusty Rose” and looks
perfect for Fall! J
In the pan it almost looks like a dusty rosy-terracotta shade. I assume this is
a sample size because it’s not terribly large, but I could be wrong. There’s no
weight on the package so I can’t be sure. The really interesting part of this
product is the ingredient list – Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Argan Oil, and
Oxides! Talk about minimal and natural! J
The card states, “Silky smooth cream blush for lips and cheeks containing
organic jojoba and argan oils – the Dusty Rose shade is perfect for autumn.”
Next is a tiny vile from Meow Meow Tweet. I’ve been wanting to try this brand, but I feel
like this vile is not the best way to try out this product. It is their Body Tonic in the scent “Geranium
Basil.” It is described on the card as, “A lightly-scented body tonic made with
essential oils that refreshes, hydrates, and awakens – great for irritated
skin.” It contains Witch Hazel Distillate, Organic Rose & Lavender Waters,
Organic Vegetable Glycerin, Essential Oils. You are supposed to apply it to the
body and face after washing. There’s no
way that I could use this on my body. There’s just not enough there! It
smells good, but it’s not my favorite. It kind of reminds me of a garden,
though I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s the basil? I wish this sample were larger. L
On to the foil/paper packets! J
First is a Lotus Moon Vitamin B
Hydrating Gel Facial Moisturizer.
It’s described as “A hydrating gel designed to moisturize your face without
clogging pores.” I’m all for that! J
Not a fan of the paper sample packaging, but here does seem to be a decent amount in it…at least for a facial
moisturizer.
Finally, there are foil packets from Earth Science. They are filled with their Extra
Gentle Fragrance Free Shampoo & Conditioner. I appreciate that they
give you both, but I feel like you’ll be lucky to get one or two uses out of
each packet. Plus, we all know how I feel about foil packet samples! J The card describes
this as, “Fragrance-free, gentle shampoo and conditioner that revitalize hair
by adding body and shine.” Well, I could certainly use both of those! J The foil packet just
turns me off though.
There’s one more item in the box, but it’s not on the card
and I’m not sure why. It’s a full size High
Voltage Gloss from Manic Panic! Unfortunately,
the color is not one I feel I would ever wear. It is called “Hotta Chocolata”
and it’s kind of a slightly rosy brown. Definitely mostly brown, plus it’s
shimmery. I’m not usually a huge fan of shimmery glosses. It might be beautiful
on, but I haven’t tried it yet. In the package it just doesn’t look like me. I
should add that it lights up when you open it (I’ve never really understood
this gimmick – I mean, who really
applies lip gloss in the dark and how helpful is that light in reality?) and it
has a nice mirror on the side. So, it sems like a nice enough product, just not
my kind of color.
And that does it for October’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box! I’m
not sure how I feel about this one. I like the eyeshadow and the cream blush,
plus I like the minimalism of the Bare Bones Cleanser. But overall, eh. Not too
exciting and, though there are some decent sized samples, there are still foil
packets which always makes my heart sink just a bit! What do you think? Is
Vegan Cuts doing a good job with its Beauty Boxes or do you think they need to
change things up a bit? I’m feeling a little change might be good, but I’m not
totally unhappy either. Eh. That kinda sums it all up! J Until next month, thanks for
reading and if you're interested in receiving your own Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, you can go to their website or click the link here! J
