Nosh Notes: Cafe Cluny

Nosh Notes: Cafe Cluny Since eating and New York City go hand in hand, I wanted to share a few of my most memorable dining experiences - Nosh Notes - in case you find yourself hungry in the Big Apple. The first recommendation is Cafe Cluny. A small but mighty brunch spot in the West Village. It is unassuming from the outside but packs quite the punch on the taste meter inside. Oh my gosh! Delicious, delicious, delicious.  Nosh Notes: Cafe Cluny
First of all, the West Village is absolutely gorgeous! For the first time, in a long time, I was actually jealous - the green eyed monster kind. So envious of all the cool guys and gals biking or walking with their Bugaboo baby strollers and cute doggies. I was pretty much mesmerized. If we ever relocate, we'll have to live there. There's just no way around it. Anyway, when we got to Cafe Cluny, there wasn't a long wait (it was just after 11am). We sat down in the back corner at a very cozy table for three. All the servers were wearing white and navy striped shirts with black pants. Adorable! Our server was delightful. She showed up when we needed her and gave great recommendations. It was a sunny yet chilly morning so I felt like having some warmth. That meant, Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal with berries and nuts and a cup of coffee.
Nosh Notes: Cafe Cluny This bowl of warmth was delish! It was creamy and full of flavor. Perfect choice for a day filled with walking around non-stop. The cup of coffee was a nice match and gave me the much needed jolt in the morning. Of course, I did order a pain au chocolat as a side (note how I forgot to photograph that) but because the oatmeal was so filling, I couldn't touch the croissant. It made for a nice afternoon snack however.
Nosh Notes: Cafe Cluny The other noteworthy dishes on the menu include the Cluny Burger with a side of fries and the Short Rib Hash with two poached eggs. Both looked extremely delicious and as my girlfriends can attest, two thumbs up! The place was packed by the time our breakfast arrived so clearly it is a neighbourhood favorite. The crowd was mostly families with young kids and single guys and gals catching up - brunching. The vibe was awesome.
Nosh Notes: Cafe Cluny I was and still am pretty much in love with the West Village. It felt like the kind of place that you could settle down and have a pretty fun-tastic life. This beautiful townhouse is where I'd like to live. Isn't it gorgeous! There was a house on sale but I didn't have the nerve to find out how much it cost. I really really didn't want my dreams to be shattered.... because, no word of a lie... I was in a trans....

Next time you're in NYC, check out Cafe Cluny and the West Village. It will definitely get you in a mood. A good great mood.  Enjoy! Nosh Notes: Cafe Cluny
