The day started with a fashion show (of sorts) to demonstrate the latest and greatest in beauty trends. It was a really peppy event. People were way too awake and excited for my un-caffeinated state. Despite not being able to see everything (we were a few rows back - if you want to sit in the front, get there early!), we could see enough. Music, dancing, some singing, and some seriously awesome prizes (that you had to get up and dance for - so while I wanted a prize, I also didn't...), the show lasted 2 hours. Thank god there were breakfast foods provided!
After the show, we ventured to the beauty section of the store, where all the different brands had set up stations where you could get anything from skincare treatments to a full face of make-up. We had made appointments for later in the afternoon, so we just wandered around, ogling all the things and people. Note to those wanting to attend next year: make your appointments early, so you can get them in the morning! We were able to get a brow consultation from Anastasia (where I bought these things - they're so wonderful, I can't even express) and were treated to some serums from Clarins.
And then, we shopped.
Tory Burch has officially made my most favorite perfume. It's everything I ever wanted, and I was so excited not only to purchase it, but to also have the bottles hand engraved. How cool is that? It was little details like this that made this event so great!
After grabbing some lunch, we finally made it to our appointments. Unforunately, the Bobbi Brown group was an hour behind, but thankfully we were able to get in early at Nars. Where I had a really awesome makeover. Getting your makeup done is so fun! And then i bought the most wonderful (and expensive) lipstick ever. Tom Ford's Wild Ginger. A longer review to come, but this lippie is everything I ever wanted and more than worth the price! I definitely recommend checking out this event next year if you're a beauty lover like me! It's a really long day, if you have to wait for your appointment(s), but it's fun to be out with a bunch of other beauty-lovers. And it's a really great way to see - and try - the latest trends! I definitely want to go in the fall (where the event is apparently a lot smaller - apparently, they had 3x the people at the event this year!) and see what is on the charts!
