No More Lost Socks in the A House!

Review of Little Grippers socks

We were recently sent some socks from Little Grippers for both of the Little A's.

The socks claim to stay on due to their thin layer of natural silicon which is applied directly to the cuff of the socks with no additional sewing. The silicon is 100% natural, hypoallergenic and is breathable, preventing any irritation to the skin. The silicon should last the lifetime of the sock and they can be washed and tumble dried as normal because it renews itself after each wash and should never lose it's effectiveness.

The baby range comes in traditional colours of white, baby pink, baby blue and sunny yellow, starting from size newborn up to 2-3 years.

As well as this there is also a range of school socks for both boys and girls available in black, white and grey, starting at age 3-6 and going up to 14+.

What did we think?

Even reading the above, I was not convinced these socks would stay on. My two have always pulled their socks off right from being babies and I couldn't work out how Little Grippers could make theirs stay on!

When we received the socks I was pleased with the feel and quality of them, they were very soft and felt strong. When I got to the silicon strip I did think this felt a little strange but it stretched well with the sock so I didn't think the Little A's would notice too much of a difference.

When I put the socks on Little Miss A they fit her really nicely and were easy to pull up and put on with the silicon strip in the right place. Now came the big test, would she be able to pull them off? Well, no! To my surprise she couldn't get them off, as hard as she tried! She did manage to pull them down a little bit but could not get them all of the way off, despite trying very hard! After trying, but failing, to pull them off she quickly gave up and went back to playing with her toys instead! Since then she has not even bothered to try pulling them off!

I have washed the socks quite a few times now and am impressed with how well they do wash. The socks still look as good as new and the silicon strip has not lost any of it's effectiveness.

As for Little Mr A's school socks, although I do like them and they are great quality, like the baby socks, I probably wouldn't spend the extra money on buying them for him. He is past the age now where he pulls his socks off and loses them and, wearing trousers most of the year, it is not too much of a problem if they fall down a little. I can see they would be useful for girls who wear skirts to school and want their socks to stay up rather than falling down all day, however, I would not buy them for Little Mr A.

I would say that Little Grippers socks are perfect for babies and young children who like to pull their socks off (and let's face it, are there any that don't?!) and these are definitely my sock of choice for Little Miss A at the moment!

Little Grippers also sell a range of gloves which, again I think would be great for young children. There is nothing worse than losing a glove and having cold hands!

Currently Little Grippers are sold online and in a range of boutique stores around the UK, a list of which can be found on their website here. To keep up to date with all of the latest news you can follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
