It is so cold here this morning that I honestly do not want to even get out at noon and take Mr. Picky Eater lunch at the Flea. He has been diligently tending a booth for the last seven weeks. Generally, the Norman Flea Market is monthly but in December, January, and early February it is open 10 consecutive weeks. I thought this might be a good time to show you what I have done craft-wise over the last few weeks. First, you should know that I am about as disastrous at crafting as I used to be at cooking. I have been motivated of late because we are running out of stuff to sell at the flea. That’s good news! This isn’t our business so basically, Mr. Picky Eater is spending his time “contemplating his future” and selling off excess stuff we no longer want or need. Most of the booth folks are having a terrible time and dropping like flies over the last few weeks. Some, haven’t even made booth rent for several weekends in a row but that has not been our plight. Ours has been finding items to replace the ones we have sold each week. The buyers have only reinforced what I have suspected all along……….we have cool stuff! 

We have tons of records because as you know, we decorate with album cover art. Sometimes, you have to buy an entire box of those things to get the one LP you want. Often the records are scratched and couldn’t be resold with any spirit of integrity. I went on Pinterest and found a couple of projects that didn’t look too hard to do. I didn’t particularly care for the original look so I got out the spray paint! I made these by melting the records in the oven and then painting them:

I also made these bracelets:

I got these candlesticks in a free box at a yard sale last spring:

Turned them into these using a picture I saw on HGTV:

A few weeks ago when I went to get my hair cut, I went across the parking lot to the local Goodwill – I get my hair done in a small town I used to live in – and found this for $2.00 because it was ½ price day.

I turned it into this:
