Paul Newman. Gorgeous. Stylish. Talented. Generous. Devoted. A true gentleman. A few years back, I saw a picture of him in a magazine and was convinced he is one of the best looking men to walk on this planet (still am). Maybe it was his generation but unlike the Clooney's and Pitt's of this world, he didn't come across as smug or egotistical or on the chase for the next hot model. Who knows what he did behind closed doors but his persona as a celebrity was one that melted the iciest of hearts around the world. He was a devoted family man, married to Joanne Woodward for nearly 50 years until his death in 2008 (minus an indiscretion with an actress on the set of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid). If you don't know the man, I'm certain you know his salad dressings? Newman's Own. Paul Newman and his partners started a business purely for the (as the tag line states clearly) "shameless exploitation in pursuit of the common good." Every dollar after taxes is donated to charity. *swoon* A handsome humanitarian. Check out the article below from Matchbook magazine and the pics that follow. I think I'd like to get my hands on this - Paul Newman Boxset - Ahem, hungry husband or perhaps this book on his life. . On that note, I think I may plan a Paul Newman movie marathon complimented by a meal made with Newman's Own. Fun!
